When, where, and how to buy Apple's new iPhones

Interested inside iPhone 5S or cheaper iPhone 5C? Here's ways you can your hands on them at the earliest opportunity.

Apple on Tuesday announced its latest iPhone with a press event in Cupertino, California. The iPhone 5S is equipped with an improved camera having a dual-LED flash as well as a faster 64-bit A7 processor with improved graphics. Other specs range from the same 4-inch Retina display, improved life of the battery, support for 4G LTE networks, plus a fingerprint scanner embedded inside the home button for additional security.

The company also unveiled the iPhone 5C, a lower-cost model that is certainly being offered in a variety of color options. The device resembles last year's iPhone 5, having a 4-inch Retina display, 8-megapixel rear camera, and dual-core A6 processor.

Rather than an aluminum and glass body, however, the iPhone 5C includes a plastic shell, similar to the older iPhone 3G and 3GS.

When and where

The iPhone 5S and 5C will likely be released on Friday, September 20. The company noted that preorders for that iPhone 5C will become on Friday, September 13. Apple failed to announce preorder information for your iPhone 5S.

Like other iPhones before it, the 5S and 5C will likely be brought into the world with great fanfare. Lines previously begun to form in front of at least one Apple Store plus more crowds are required as launch day nears. Apple is scheduled to open up its retail stores at 8 a.m. local time on Friday, September 20.

The easiest method to get your hands for the iPhone 5S would be to order it online. If you are more interested within the lower-priced iPhone 5C, it is recommended you preorder these devices this Friday September 13 from Apple's web shop.


Apple's website can easily become overwhelmed by the thousands of eager customers looking to purchase a new smartphone. There are other options, though. Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile have all confirmed that they'll offer both devices. New or existing customers can preorder the iPhone 5C online from other respective carrier beginning on September 13th. If online shipping dates commence to slip, customers can make an effort to purchase either model in carrier stores on September 20.

Those interested inside iPhone 5C on AT&T can preregister now for the company's site to be notified with additional information.

Smaller regional carriers like C-Spire and Cricket in addition have offered Apple's new iPhones within the past, but neither have announced release information at this time.


Major retailers like Best Buy, RadioShack, Target, and Walmart have also traditionally offered Apple's new iPhones in-store and online.


Storage and color

The iPhone 5S is offered in three different color combinations: gold with white accents, silver with white accents, and space grey with black accents. The device can also be available in a number of storage options, including 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB models.

The plastic iPhone 5C is going to be offered in 16GB and 32GB flavors, as well as five different color options: white, lime green, light blue, red, and yellow.


The iPhone 5S starts at $199 to the 16GB model having a new two-year service agreement, while models with 32GB and 64GB of storage can be found for $299 and $399 on contract. The iPhone 5C will probably be offered for $99 to the 16GB model and $199 for the 32GB model which has a new two-year service agreement.
