tab-resize-chromeThere are plenty of reason why you need to load multiple tabs in the browser, and one of them is probably because you should refer to information from two (or maybe more) websites. However, with all the current tabs architecture, you'll have to switch involving the tabs to view the information. Won’t or not it's great when you can split the screen layout and arrange the tabs next to each other so it is possible to view two (or more) tabs simultaneously? A nifty Chrome extension called Tab Resize enables you to use multiple tabs alongside one another quickly plus more intuitively than performing it yourself.

Using Tab Resize

1. Head on up to the Chrome Web Store and install Tab Resize.

The nice thing about Tab Resize is that it only needs access to your tabs and browsing history to work.

2. Once installed, should you right-click the Tab Resize icon inside top right toolbar, you’ll be able to either hide the icon or uninstall the extension as necessary.

3. Left-clicking the Tab Resize icon will open its options.

You have five standard tab resize possibilities: 1×2, 2×1, 1×3, 3×1 and 2×2.

Regardless of how many tabs you've open, Tab Resize will still only resize the total amount you selected starting using the tab currently selected all night to the right until it reaches the most number of tabs for that layout.

4. If you only need a single tab resized, and also you want it to use a standard layout, select “Single Tab.”

Single tab resizing will simply occur for that tab currently selected.

5. Clicking on any layout will automatically change Chrome’s tabs into it.

Once the tabs are set, you are able to grab a hold of them to move them around as appropriate. You can also move it into the primary browser window you’re using.

6. At any time you'll be able to revert for a original by clicking “Undo.”

This will revert on the layout you used before, so if you’ve resized several times, you may must manually set Chrome support the way you want.

7. Open up Tab Resize again and click “Custom.”

This is where you'll be able to create custom screen layouts to work with within Chrome. You’re only restricted to how big your monitor is, so think creatively.

8. Once you set the rows and columns for the layout, click “Save” and it’ll now appear if you left-click the Tab Resize icon.

9. If you want to delete your custom layouts, click “Delete.”

10. You’ll be asked to confirm getting rid of which, so click “Apply” to continue.

This’ll leave you while using default layouts that came if you installed Tab Resize into Chrome.

The only con for this Chrome extension is the fact that Tab Resize doesn’t work with multiple monitors. This is because Chrome doesn’t detect that you’re exceeding one monitor so the feature can’t be implemented before the browser allows that sort of detection.

Conclusion

Anything that can help users multi-task in Chrome is a superb addition on the browser. Tab Resize allows you to operate side-by-side with Chrome tabs the way in which Google should’ve integrated it firstly. Maybe some day they will add the feature but for now, Tab Resize you can get by.
