JSound Is A Windows Music Player With 31-Band Stereo Equalizer, Online Radio & More


Bored of your current very good music player and looking for something different for a change? JSound can help freshen things up! It’s a very good music player for Windows that doubles as a radio app along with a full-fledged audio suite. Thanks to its user-friendly interface along with a wide spectrum of features - a few of which typically come in separate apps - it permits you to change various aspects of your audio files and as a result, increase the sound output of songs employing a variety of filters and effects. In addition, you may also record sound from bodily and mental sources, convert audio recordings between different formats, pay attention to online radio, add spice to music using software equalization plus more. At 65MB for any setup file, JSound certainly isn’t a lightweight on an app of this kind, but then, it lets you do put an entire laundry listing of features at your disposal. The applications sports a pleasant dark grey interface that is quite simple to navigate, with playback buttons, album cover art, stereo volume controls, playlist and library, some nifty effect controls, along with a stereo equalizer all presented neatly inside their separate sections.


While JSound is actually designed as a ipod that supports all major audio formats including MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, RF, RM etc., power users can also use it to enhance various areas of sound quality using 31 equalizer bands for right and left channels separately. The bottom row of icons let you access several additional audio enhancement features. For example, the intense right button includes several equalizer presets for a lot of genres including for example dance, rock, drama, pop and much more. There’s and a Lyrics button that automatically loads lyrics to the currently playing song from the Internet.

The remaining portion of the app’s features open within their own applet windows. There’s a web-based radio applet that let you tune in to radio stations determined by different music genres. Likewise, the effects controller enables you to adjust parameters like echo, tremolo, chorus, flanger and vibrato of sound. Other features include meta information, wave representation, CD ripper, audio recorder, audio cutter, audio converter and so forth.


During testing, I noticed JSound choosing a lot of CPU resources. resulted in other computer processes and applications becoming fairly unresponsive. I hope these bugs is going to be ironed outside in future updates from the application. JSound is surely an open-source application that works well on all version of Windows. Testing was carried out on Windows 8 Pro, 64bit.
