How to Run Multiple Skype Accounts in Various OS

I have two Skype accounts (one for work and another to see relatives) and I love to connect to both of them whenever I am working behind the computer. However, the restriction with the Skype client, regardless in the OS that you will be using, only enables you to login to one account at any given time. If you're keen to own multiple Skype accounts on your desktop, here is the workaround.

Assuming that you simply already have a Skype session session running:

In Linux, press “Alt + F2″ to open a launcher.

skype --secondary

This will launch another instance with the Skype client to login to an alternative Skype account.

In Windows, press “Windows key + R” to launch the Run dialog. Type:

"C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe" /secondary

If you might be running the 64-bit version of Skype, use this command instead:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe" /secondary

In Mac, there is no simple workaround to produce multiple installments of Skype client. The easiest way is by using the app - Multi Skype Launcher to spread out a second demonstration of Skype.

Download the Multi Skype Launcher app, extract it and click on it. It will prompt one to enter your password. Once that is certainly done, you will see an additional Skype client make an appearance in your Mac. You can then login for the secondary account.

For both Windows and Linux, it is best that you create a desktop shortcut while using command to help you launch it easily. For Mac, you just have to place the “Multi Skype Launcher” in a handy position. Enjoy!
