When Google first announced Android 4.3 Jelly Bean as well as short list of user-facing features, one item listed was dial-pad autocomplete. You know, the feature which has been present for a very long time in skinned versions of Android where once you start dialing various, these devices uses your address book to guess who you are going to call and provides to complete the telephone number for you. Yeah, that feature.

It's baked into Android 4.3, of course, if you happen to be by using a Nexus device with all the latest iteration of Jelly Bean, you may be surprised never to see autocomplete make an appearance the first time you dial a number after updating. That's because the feature isn't enabled by default.

In order to use dial-pad autocomplete you'll want to launch the Phone app, tap the icon to the menu, and select Settings. A few items down you can see an option for dial-pad autocomplete; look into the box next to it and out to the Phone app.

This time once you begin dialing a number, and even using the dial pad to spell a name, you will see three possible matches right across the pad. Tapping on the name will start the call right away, no further action needed on your side.

Pretty neat, eh?
